Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Leadership Development
Through our partnership with service organizations, both local and global, the B3 program engages student volunteers in community service projects and provides leadership development opportunities for our students.
The Student Advisor Program is open to high school seniors and provides these student leaders with a training program to enhance and develop leadership skills. This program focuses on activities and exercises targeted at team building. Meeting throughout the year, students become familiar with the skills needed to become a strong leader – patience, leading by example, listening skills, humor, flexibility, sound decision making, communication, motivational skills, recognizing others for their contributions, utilizing talents of those around them, knowing when to ask for help, building consensus, and confidence.
The Student Ambassador Program is open to high school juniors and seniors.
B3 Ambassadors serve as representatives promoting the B3 program at school and community events. The Ambassador program develops public speaking and network skills, as well as provides marketing, event planning and social media experience.
The Amigo Program, open to all returning students, is an opportunity to build leadership skills while helping new students become familiar with B3. Amigos are new student mentors, helping to connect students, build enthusiasm and prepare for the local and global service aspects of the program. In addition, Amigos gain event planning experience.
The B3 Advisory Board consists of students, adult volunteers, parents of students (both enrolled in the program and alumni) and community members that have a strong connection to the organization. This leadership opportunity offers students the chance to not only work with their peers and adults to improve the organization but to also take on leadership resonsonsibilites for Advisory Board led events throughout the year.
Internships for both high school and college students provide additional opportunities for student leadership, growth and development.
B3 leadership programs are offered to a wide range of students and have proven to be not only an important developmental step for our students, but beneficial to the local and global communities where we work.
Builders Beyond Borders assists multiple populations – the student and adult volunteers enrolled in the program as well as the larger local and global communities we serve.
