What we aim to solve
Sustaining a operating budget to continues to support the mission of the organization has continued to challenge the non-profit sector. Competition for funds continues to grow as more and more nonprofits are showing up. The ask for support is on overdrive. Planning and preparing for the future giving that state funding continues to be cut and can't support the funding needs of Riverside. We look to other avenues of funding and support through fundraising to the private sector, including major gifts, grants and business partnerships that will allow us to grow for the next 50 years.

Employment
The purpose of employment services is to assist people in discovering the type of work they like and to teach the job skills necessary for a satisfying employment experience. We provide assistance in securing employment and supporting people to be successful on the job. Services are individualized, meeting the goals of the employee and the requirements of the employer. For five decades, Riverside has worked with hundreds of area employers. We have long-standing relationships that ensure each participant receives a broad scope of support services necessary for successful employment.
Life Enrichment
Exercising control over what's important to you and being able to express yourself are simple joys that enrich and provide greater daily independence. Riverside's Life Enrichment program provides adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with opportunities for personal growth, independence, and quality living. A talented team of professionals assists in the design of each person's therapeutic plan. It is our belief that growth occurs when trusting, caring, and mutual relationships develop between people.
Community Based Day Services (CBDS)
Engages Riverside participants in a range of community experiences, programs, training and life enrichment. CBDS is designed to meet each participant's interests with opportunities for experiential learning and skills development. CBDS participants work on job training skills, personal growth and development, and heightened awareness about the world around us. Organized activities in the greater community provide learning opportunities for socialization, communication, while promoting physical and cognitive health and well-being. CBDS experiential learning covers a broad range of activities. They include trips to local museums, parks, libraries, events, public safety organizations, nature excursions, news writing, computer skills, meditation, martial arts class, yoga, music appreciation, and innovative art projects. CBDS participants also volunteer at local non-profits, social service and civic organizations.
Transportation
Riverside Transportation is a vital and necessary service for individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities from 3 towns in the Hampshire, Hampden and Franklin counties of Western Massachusetts. Riverside Transportation provides an accessible safe, and professional way for participants to commute to their jobs, to Community Based Day Services (CBDS) and to Riverside's Life Enrichment programs. Riverside's fleet of 27 comfortable vans, staffed with experienced drivers create a caring, professional environment that starts and ends the day for each individual.

Riverside has been in existence for 50 years, with more than 150 years of senior experience and knowledge of the human services industry.
We are always eager, passionate and open-minded to learn and grow to create a better world for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
