Mission Statement
CARE is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. We place special focus on working alongside poor women because, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty. Women are at the heart of CARE's community-based efforts to improve basic education, prevent the spread of HIV, increase access to clean water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources. CARE also delivers emergency aid to survivors of war and natural disasters, and helps people rebuild their lives.

Our economic development programs helped more than 9 million people gain access to credit, acquire skills to start to expand their businesses and improve their income.
CARE’s water and sanitation projects increased access to safe water and improved health and hygiene practices for over 5 million people.
Almost 10 million people participated in CARE projects to improve crop production, increase household income, adapt to a changing climate and promote the sustainable use of natural resources.
