What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Editorial
Our staff of professional journalists produce enterprise and
investigative multi-media reports about the environment, health,
education, politics, crime, transportation, the arts, and other issues
of importance. Stories, blog posts, and columns are published on a daily
basis on baycitizen.org(http://baycitizen.org/) , and some also appear in the twice-weekly Bay Area pages in The New York Times. We also work in partnership with more than 20 other organizations,
distributing their co-branded stories on our site. And, we encourage
individuals to engage with and participate on our site by submitting
story ideas, commenting, submitting, and becoming a Citizen blogger.
Technology
Our in-house technology team works closely with editorial to produce
visualizations, databases and mobile applications that compliment our
articles. The team also works on generating ways in which technology can
be leveraged to make information more accessible and transparent to the
public.
