What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Campus
Interfaith America provides high quality interfaith programming that suffuses and sustains higher education’s commitment to engaging religious diversity. We work in a holistic way, and in partnership with other higher education associations, to target key audiences within campus communities.
Interfaith America works with hundreds of colleges across the country to develop courses, programs, and campus-wide plans. Our programs and resources build the capacity of campus educators, administrators, and students. We offer grants and other funding, learning tools, and curricula, as well as consulting and training for campuses or networks. We organize spaces (in-person and virtual) for relationship building, strategic planning, and leadership development.
Narrative
Interfaith America meaningfully contributes to a national narrative that prioritizes bridgebuilding in a religiously diverse democracy. Our narrative program elements include:
Original Reporting and Storytelling - Our media team of experienced journalists creates, commissions, and curates inspiring interfaith stories, filling a void in national religion reporting. This includes multimedia pieces in local and national outlets as well as on our own Interfaith America Magazine.
Conversations and Convenings - The podcast Interfaith America with Eboo Patel offers an extensive series of interviews with some of our nation’s most important thinkers and leaders across various civic sectors. We also host dozens of in-person and virtual convenings, webinars, and other public fora each year.
Thought Leaders and New Voices - A provides powerful outlets for thought leaders and also focuses on emerging and previously underrepresented voices.
Emerging Leaders Network
The Emerging Leaders Network inspires, equips, and connects interfaith leaders to build on our nation’s key strength of religious diversity. Interfaith America’s Emerging Leaders Network is composed of more than 2,000 diverse, multifaceted, innovative, and motivated individuals, who influence how healthcare, business, non-profits, religious communities, government, and other sectors engage with religious diversity.
We host an annual gathering of 50+ emerging leaders for peer-to-peer training, storytelling, and skill-building focused on topics identified by registrants as current needs.
Each year, we support 80+ small-scale projects by recent college graduates, professional development activities by more seasoned alumni, and high-impact work executed by IA’s most experienced emerging leaders.
We invite intermediate and advanced leaders to play mentorship and facilitator roles at events. They also contribute to Interfaith America Magazine and participate in public fora.
Innovation
Interfaith America innovates relevant and useful approaches in emerging spaces such as hybrid learning, faith and health, business consulting, public policy, and technology. Recent work includes the launch of #Interfaith, an online learning opportunity designed to equip a new generation of leaders with the awareness and skills to promote interfaith cooperation online, and consulting and advising a bipartisan Congressional group on the Building Civic Bridges Act. Many of our racial equity initiatives also fall within our Innovation program area, including the Black Interfaith Project, Vote is Sacred program, and Racial Equity and Interfaith Cooperation Grants.
