What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Scholarships
Create access to higher education for NHCC students through scholarships. Over 65% of our students work part-time to support their families and pay for college. Scholarships gives them time to focus on college and complete their degree.
Academic Program Support
With less state support, NHCC programs rely heavily on tuition dollars. In order to expand programs or offer new innovative opportunities for our students, donors support various programs around the campus.
STEMFoundations
This unique program focuses on helping students whose desire is to work in one of the STEM fields but are failing biology, chemistry or math. With the additional support provided through this program, these students move from failing to the top of their class.
NHCC Food Cupboard
As a non-residential college, our students have the financial responsibility for shelter, transportation, food and sometimes childcare in addition to paying for tuition. The average age of our students is 25. Food insecurity is very real for some of our students. Studying is hard when you are hungry.
The NHCC Food Cupboard enables the college to help students be successful by covering the basic necessity of food.
Random Acts of Kindness Emergency Fund
Things happen in life. Your home catches fire. You were in a car accident. You are a single parent, going to college, and your child get sick. These unexpected financial situations can cause a student to drop out of college during the semester so they can work to cover the costs.
Our Random Acts of Kindness emergency fund helps student by providing a financial safety net to help them stay in college.
