Impact Statement
We generate real world, "anytime, anywhere" local civic participation that matters in the communities we serve. Whether it is helping raise diverse voices in a city or promoting community problem-solving in a neighborhood, we provide the model, volunteer support, and open source technology to make it happen. While many online projects come and go, we've been on the move since 1994.
Background Statement
E-Democracy.org launched with the world's first election-oriented web site in 1994. Today we specialize in civil and agenda-setting online public discussions that matter in real world local communities. We are a non-profit "of" the Internet and not just "on" it. We currently serve 15 communities across 3 countries with over 25 local online "Issues Forums." About half of our communities are in Minnesota and the rest are in England (4), New Zealand (1), New Mexico (1) and Ohio (1).

E-Democracy.org is also involved in promoting public engagement based on increasing government transparency online through our new Participation 3.0 initiative. We have special efforts, funded by foundations in part, to support Issues Forums in low income, high immigrant/diverse/Native American communities and neighborhoods.
