The mission of Atlas Corps is address critical social issues, by developing leaders, strengthening organizations and promoting innovation in the nonprofit sector through an overseas fellowship for skilled professionals.
Atlas Corps facilitates an international exchange of nonprofit leaders in which ideas and talent cross borders to tackle the world’s most pressing challenges such as human trafficking, poverty, HIV/AIDS, care for the elderly and disabled, and education of underprivileged youth.
The program is based on a two-way international fellowship where nonprofit leaders from the global south volunteer in the U.S. for one year, and U.S. nonprofit leaders volunteer in the global south. Atlas Corps Fellows are mid-career professionals with three or more years of experience in the nonprofit sector and are identified as leaders in their communities. We place Fellows at Host organizations addressing similar issues that the Fellows worked on previously, such as hunger, women’s rights, youth activism, economic empowerment, and social justice.
