What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Direct Survivor Support
In-Person and Phone advocacy for survivors and families affected by sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking. This includes a helpline, resources and referrals, advocacy-based counseling, safety and support planning, basic legal advocacy, housing advocacy, and support groups. API Chaya strives to assist clients within their own linguistic and cultural context. The majority of our clients are immigrants and people of color. All our services are free and confidential.
Violence Prevention
Working within and across communities, we provide culturally relevant education and innovative projects that deepen our collective understanding of how systems of power create conditions that perpetuate violence in our homes and daily life. Through building relationships with youth and adult community leaders, we bring awareness and incite action against domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. We work towards shifting cultural and societal norms that allow violence to continue, while lifting up values within the community that cultivate resilience, equity, and justice. Our current programming includes the Queer Network Project, healing support groups, faith-based organizing, community education, community solutions, language access advocacy, API youth organizing, and disability justice.
