Program: Rescue & Rehome Corgis

Budget:
$10,000
Category:
Animal-Related
Population Served:
Adults

Program Description:

FTCR Inc. works with shelters and private owners to aid in the rescue of Welsh Corgis and assists German Shepherd Dogs by referral. We are an all-volunteer group and we foster the dogs in our homes before they are placed with screened adopters. We perform home checks and reference checks to insure our applicants are ready for a dog. We provide support for the life of the dog and if for any reason that dog cannot stay in the home we take the dog back. Our dogs are seen by veterinarians to bring them up to date on shots and needed treatments and are spay/neutered before placement. We maintain a website and are part of the Petfinder.org network.

Program Long-Term Success:

We were able to expanded our commitment to dogs and families in need. We were able to do this by the recruitment of more volunteers to help us focus on programs and services to the community. With the increase of program help, we have been in greater touch with area shelters, networked in order to secure help for dogs in need, and improve communication with our adopters and supports with our website & newsletter.
