Sports Gift has collected and distributed over 150,000 pieces of sports equipment to impoverished communities in over 30 countries around the world including Mexico, Central and South America, Africa, Indonesia, the Middle East and the South Pacific.

Keven Baxter is the President of Sports Gift, which he founded in 2002. Keven volunteers his time with Sports Gift running the day to day operations including the distribution of sports equipment to youth programs in over 30 countries. Keven also maintains a private legal practice advising companies on business and technology matters including technology licensing and contractual matters, venture capital financings and mergers and acquisitions. He began his career with a large national law firm and has served in senior management roles for a number of public companies including Fair Isaac Corporation, Buy.com Inc. and Interplay Entertainment. Keven received his B.A in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara where he also played on the Tennis Team. After working as a teaching pro at a local tennis club in Los Altos to earn money for graduate school, Keven went on to earn his Law degree from the University of California, Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law and his MBA at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas Graduate School of Business.

CEO/Executive Director Statement:

Sports Gift is focused on providing sports to underprivileged children throughout the world and promoting sports related community service among our youth. Sports promote health and exercise, provide important life lessons in such things as goal setting, hard work, fair play and teamwork and give us a safe arena to experience the thrills and challenges of competition. Unfortunately, many children living in poverty will never have the opportunity to enjoy sports without the assistance of Sports Gift. We work to improve the lives and give hope to impoverished children through a variety of sports programs including the collection and donation of sports equipment. Sports Gift has distributed over one hundred forty thousand pieces of sports equipment to children all over the world including the United States, Mexico, Central and South America, Africa, Indonesia and the South Pacific. We also offer community service programs to America’s youth to increase their awareness of and compassion for underprivileged children who cannot afford to play sports. Through this effort, we seek to instill in our youth a lifelong commitment to and passion for community service.

Funding Needs

Sports Gift is seeking financial donations to support our program and activities to provide sports to impoverished children around the world. Donations are used to cover the costs of our community service program materials with American youth and to cover the expenses of our Laguna Hills facility to operate our activities to collect and distribute sports equipment to impoverished children around the world.

Volunteer Needs

Sports Gift is seeking volunteers around the United States to participate in our Collection Leader program to organize a collection of sports equipment in their community at a school, sports league, club or other location to benefit impoverished children.

Sports Gift is also seeking volunteers at our Orange County, California facility to help us sort, organize and prepare sports equipment for distribution.

Request for In-Kind Contributions

Sports Gift accepts donations of sports equipment. See our website for items we accept (www.sportsgift.org).

Sporting Goods manufacturers and retailers are encouraged to contact us to donate surplus or obsolete inventory, returns, etc.
