The HEARTH Program (Healed, Encouraged, and Renewed Through Housing) provides supported apartment living for an additional 193 individuals and family members. Through the Scatter Site Program, supportive services are provided for participants in homes owned and not owned by Mercy Haven. We also operate an Adult Home that cares for the needs of 26 adults living with mental illness. The REAP(Resident Empowerment & Achievement Program)program's purpose is to enhance the goals of residents in present programs and to offer the opportunity of need education/employment skills. To date Mercy Haven's Legal Advocacy program (MAP) has opened more then 2,000 cases and continues to provide free legal to those participating in our supportive programs. In 2009, Mercy Haven founded the Mercy Enrichment Program which is housed in Brentwood. The Enrichment site is offered to those who know their need for quiet time, respite and rejuvenation, and whose values affirm those of Mercy Haven, Inc. Business meetings, workshops and retreats are common events held at this site.
Program Long-Term Success:
Mercy Haven purchased four homes with a grant that was awarded by the New York State Office of Temporary Disability (OTDA) and will provide permanent housing for five homeless families. The five families will now have a safe place to raise their children and a place to call home. As in the past, Mercy Haven will be committed to providing support to these families in an effort to assist them in obtaining their goal of self-sufficiency.
