Mission Statement
The Westchester Arts Council is the largest private nonprofit arts council in New York State, serving more than 150 arts organizations, 43 school districts, hundreds of artists and audiences numbering over one million. Its mission is to provide leadership, vision and support to ensure the availability, accessibility and diversity of the arts in Westchester County. With financial support from the County of Westchester, New York State Council on the Arts, and major corporations, foundations, and individuals the Council provides a wide variety of programs and services to the community designed to develop audiences for the arts, strengthen the county's cultural institutions and enrich the quality of life for all Westchester residents.

Janet Langsam, Executive Director of the Westchester Arts Council, has 30 years experience as an arts administrator. For 17 years her creative leadership has guided the Arts Council into the 21st century on sound financial ground, and her advocacy efforts have helped maintain stability in the entire arts community. She has initiated new fundraising efforts, developed corporate relationships and expanded the board. Ms. Langsam was the driving force behind the Council's purchase of the historic bank building, and she continues to be the most recognized arts leader in Westchester.
