CEO/Executive Director Statement:

The past three decades have been a period of enormous progress in early child care & education, due in large measure to the strategic initiatives & pioneering work of organizations like CCI. This is why we recently officially renamed CCI the Center for Children’s Initiatives, to better capture the scope of our work – taking action on behalf of young children & families.

Since we launched in 1982, CCI has consistently expanded its activities to ensure child care services are recognized by all critical constituencies as an integral part of the broader field of early care & learning for children from birth through school age. In order to do this work, CCI has built important partnerships with community advocates, educators, researchers, health & social service professionals, the business & labor communities as well as public officials.

Planning for the future, CCI will undertake a number of new program initiatives designed to achieve our goal of promoting excellence in early care & learning opportunities for every child.  As part of this work, we will continue to seek the most effective opportunities to support parents to be informed consumers of early childhood services.

CCI will remain a catalyst for effective change in program & policy at every level of government, capitalizing on our unparalleled understanding of the field, the depth of our research, experience & networking.
