Learning is for Everyone, a Tampa
Bay area nonprofit education resource organization dedicated to supporting the Curiosity Driven Life through a variety
of experiential learning opportunities, is publishing a magazine called, of course, The Curiosity Driven Life . CDL will initially be published twice a
year, and then quarterly starting in 2013. Each issue will include:

Articles, editorials & photo essays about intentional ways to live
and learn

DIY Corner
·
News & Events
·
Book, film and product reviews
·
Interviews and more!
Subscriptions
Our inaugural issue will be
available free online early in 2012.
Future issues will be available via digital subscriptions for a donation
of $5 a year. Hard copy annual subscriptions purchased before March 30, 2012
are just $10. After March 30, hard
copy subscriptions will be $15 a year.
Individual hard copy issues will be available for purchase at $4 each,
plus mailing costs.
Advertising
We will only accept advertising that
is related to our mission of supporting the Curiosity Driven Life. Rates for copy ready ads are currently as
follows:

Guidelines are pretty basic. 400-800
word interesting, well-written articles, interviews, reviews, or photo
essays, on some aspect of the curiosity
driven life, including but not limited to:

Innovative , experiential learning
ideas, practices, products or initiatives
·
DIY learning and living
·
Collaborative or cooperative
learning experiences, stories, programs
·
Interviews or profiles of innovative
thinkers or doers
·
Book, Film and Game reviews
Longer pieces will be considered on
a case by case basis. All ideas are welcome!
Submission Deadline
The deadline for submissions for our
inaugural Winter 2011 issue is November 30, 2011. Contributions for our Spring 2012 and Fall
2012 issues, respectively, are March 30, 2012 and August 30, 2012. All
contributors will be advised of editorial decisions in a timely fashion. In the near future, we hope to be able to
provide a small stipend to contributors, but for now, contributors receive a
free one year digital subscription to The Curiosity Driven Life and the
knowledge that your insights and experiences will encourage others to live
intentionally and with meaning in their lives!

Tampa Bay Mini
Maker Faire, scheduled for March 31,
2012, at the University Area Community Center Complex in Tampa is accepting
Maker applications through the end of January.
Tampa Bay Mini
Maker will be a family-friendly event showcasing both established and emerging
local “makers.” We’ll be showcasing everything from machines, to DIY (Do It
Yourself) science and technology, alternative energy projects, unique hand-made
crafts, music and food, and educational workshops and installations. We’re even hosting a Tampa Bay Mini Maker
Faire Food Truck Rally, with good eats from the likes of Burger Culture, Gone
Bananas, Coconut Bo’s, Michelle Faedo, Kona Ice, and Jerk Hut Jamaican Grill
and Catering!
If you’re just exhibiting
or demoing, it’s free! We welcome
crafts, engineering, music, robots, workshop digital fabrication, energy,
demonstrations, performances, projects and anything homemade, innovative,
instructive, artistic and interesting!
If you’d like to
participate in our Mini Maker Faire, go to our website at www.TampaBayMakerFaire.com and submit an entry that tells
us about yourself and your project. Entries can be submitted from individuals
as well as from groups such as hobbyist clubs and schools. We’ll want a short
description of what you make and what you will actually bring to Maker Faire,
along with links to photographs or videos of what you make. We particularly
encourage exhibits that are interactive and that highlight the process of
making things. Here’s some of what

Types of Makers
Makers:
Individuals, groups, schools and organizations that would like to demonstrate
what they make and/or how it works in an interactive environment. For Maker
groups, schools & organizations, we ask that you have one point person to
coordinate your group efforts. Makers do not pay a fee to exhibit at Maker
Faire for non-commercial exhibits.
Commercial Makers:
Individuals who would like to sell products along with demonstrating what they
make at their Mini-Maker exhibit. If you are a Maker with a product that you
would like to sell at Tampa Bay Mini Maker Faire, please let us know us that
you are a Commercial Maker on your application. There is a $75 fee for commercial makers. Please note, companies or commercial entities
do not qualify as Commercial Makers. If you are a company or commercial entity,
please inquire about sponsorship opportunities.

The mission of Maker Faire events is
to inspire, inform, connect and entertain thousands of Makers and aspiring
Makers of all ages and backgrounds through the public gathering of tech
