<p>LI4E is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that creates engaging experiential learning opportunities in the sciences and arts for people of all ages. Our goal: to inspire a culture changing, lifelong love of learning that will help people live intentionally, meaningfully, productively and successfully in the 21st century.</p>

<p> LIFE continues to provide real time, hands on learning opportunities and networking and resources regionally and nationwide.  Our accomplishments in 2012-13 have included: </p> <ul><li>Sponsorship, for a 5th year, of the award-winning community based FIRST Tech Challenge high school level robotics team, Team Duct Tape- www.TeamDuctTape.com  </li><li>Sponsorship of a FIRST Robotics Competition team at Dixie Hollins High School in St. Petersburg, FL </li><li> <div>Continued administration of the Microsoft DreamSpark program, bringing quality Microsoft tools to high school students who otherwise wouldn't have access;</div></li><li>Hosted for the 3rd year in a row, TEDxYouth@TampaBay, and companion TEDxLive events; </li><li> Hosted for the 2nd year, Tampa Bay Mini Maker Faire .</div></li><li> Collaborating with Pasco County Library Cooperative on the creation of county-wide makerspaces;</li><li> Building regional STEM education collaborative.</li></ul></div></ul> <p> Top goals for 2013-14 include:</p> <div> <ul><li> Reinvigorating our magazine, The Curiosity Driven Life</li><li>Hosting 3rd Tampa Bay Mini Maker Faire</li><li>Hosting 5th TEDxYouth@TampaBay event</li><li>Continuing our community-based STEM education support programs</li><li>Expanding services and programs into more areas in Florida to build and strengthen networks across all avenues of learning to create community resources to help make more innovative and enduring learning opportunities available to more people.  </li></ul></div>

Program Description:

Our website provides comprehensive, one stop information and networking resources where everyone can come to the table in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment to learn about everything from early learning developments to lifelong learning opportunities. In recent years, we've begun developing more community based programs, like FIRST robotics, Mini Maker Faires, and TEDx programs, but continue to provide a wealth of online support.

Program Long-Term Success:

As our main outreach, our website enables us to connect with families, students, educators and community resource providers around the nation and the world. The greatest measure of the success of this outreach is the sense of reliability and confidence users have in the resources we offer, as evidenced by consistent high usage of our site, and the consistent levels of inquiry from the general public, who have come to view us as a respected resource.<br />

Short term success comes in the way of an informed parent or student who is able to find the resource he or she needs to make informed decisions about education.  Other short term success measures include people contacting us to have their resource included among our collection.<br />

Program success is monitored by observing levels of use on our website, references from other sites, groups and individuals, and user comments.<br />

Program Success Examples:

We're regularly contacted by individuals around the world seeking information about education in their areas.  We're try to  connect them with helpful resources in their communities of which they're usually unaware.  Contacts from others seeking to establish similar programs or activities to those we've initiated are also a good measure of success.<br />
