The Dallas Jr Wheelchair Mavs use basketball as a tool to develop sportsmanship, social competence, and the self confidence necessary for children and teens with physical challenges to be dynamic members of their community. <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>The goal of the program is to offer a wheelchair basketball team for children with physical disabilities otherwise not offered in our local schools or community based programs. Youth sports develop confidence, offer a sense of achievement, and build leadership qualities, cooperation, agility, speed, strength, endurance and the ability to make decisions and accept responsibility for one's actions.  Sporting events provide a peer group of individuals in which children with similar strengths and weaknesses get together to discuss their world and problem-solve similar challenges. </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>

Program Description:

<div>The Dallas Jr Wheelchiar Mavs comprise 3 wheelchair basketball teams for kids ages 6 – 18.   Our prep division team is made up of kids 13 and under.  </div> <div>The Varsity division is for children 14 – 18 and is divided into two levels of play (Junior Varsity and Varisty).  The Dallas Jr Wheelchair Mavs offers both recreational and competative play opportunities </div>
