Impact Summary from the Nonprofit
Tragically, cancer kills more children than Asthma, Diabetes, Cystic Fibrosis, Congenital Abnormalities and AIDS, combined. Childhood cancer occurs randomly and affects children of all ethnic groups and socio-economic classes. Children and adolescents newly diagnosed with pediatric cancer would fill two average size classrooms every school day. Despite these facts, only 4% of Federal cancer research funding is directed toward childhood cancer research. Since its inception in 2006, Go4theGoal Foundation has:Raised over $2-Million to support pediatric cancer patients, their families, hospital programs, and research through donations and its fundraising events such as National Dress 4 Pediatric Cancer Day, Lace-Up 4 Pediatric Cancer, Bowl4theGoal, Richard's Runs and Holiday Gift Basket Program.Provided many types of supportive services to thousands of pediatric cancer patients in over 60 of the 200 pediatric cancer hospitals and other facilities in the continental United States and Hawaii.Provided families of children battling cancer with financial assistance. We have paid mortgage payments, car payments, utility bills and travel and lodging expenses for families while their child is undergoing treatment far from home. We have donated wigs and prosthesis, funded home repairs, family vacations, and given children their most special wishes.Funded over $500,000 in innovative pediatric cancer research.
