Mission Statement

Our mission is to support people so that they can:
1. Make good decisions before a doodle comes into the home:
* Timing, expense, environment
* Breeder or Rescue
* Individual doodle traits/personalities
2. Make good decisions after a doodle comes into the home:
* Training and dog behavior education
* Support from other doodle owners
3. Encourage doodle owners to “Carry it forward”:
* Support doodle owners who are struggling
* Volunteer through IDOG or any other organization that improves the quality of their community
4. Provide Rescue Services that includes:
* Safe and benevolent handling of dogs
* Locate the very best home for each individual dog
* Support rescue dog families

Impact Statement

The International Doodle Owners Group, Inc. (IDOG) is a worldwide not-for-profit 501(c)(3) group of volunteers, dedicated to educating the public on the subject of Labradoodles and Goldendoodles. IDOG encourages responsible ownership and responsible breeding practices. We provide support and resources to help Labradoodle and Goldendoodle owners and doodles in need. We work with shelters to assist in communications, lending our network of resources to help locate quality forever homes for Labradoodles and Goldendoodles. In addition, we provide rescue, foster care and new home placements.

Our Rescue Professional Administration
* We will file and maintain all legally required documents necessary to rescue within individual states as those states laws change.
* We will provide all required applications, proof of license and legal notices for all shelters with specific needs and requirements.
* We are Incorporated in the State Indiana
* We are a Corporation doing business in the State of Florida
* We are licensed with the Department of Agriculture in the State of Georgia
* We are licensed with the Department of Agriculture in the State of Missouri
* We are an approved rescue “partner” for an extensive group of shelters throughout the US.
* We rescue or assist in rescue, on average, 800 Labradoodles and Goldendoodles per year.
* IDOG Rescue will always identify itself as a rescue and will provide proof as needed.
* We will not misrepresent ourselves as individuals wanting to adopt dogs to obtain dogs for our program.
* IDOG vaccinates, spays or neuters and microchips doodles before placing them in their new home if possible.
* IDOG keeps all information confidential about the dogs' placement and where they came from.
* We do not assist owners in reselling their dogs.
* We do not assist breeders in selling or reselling dogs.

Program Description:

Great Doodle Citizens encourages doodle owners to train their dogs above standard training and become an asset to the doodle community.
Great doodle Citizens participate in Therapy, Service, Search and Rescue, Rally, Obedience, Rally Obedience, Flyball, Carting or Agility.
Program recognizes these outstanding dogs and owners on our website.

Program: Doodle Communties

Program Description:

Doodle Communities Program. Encourages doodle owners to connect with other doodles owners. This program provides a social network of owners within a region. Communities will often meet at parks, dog daycares and private facilities (known as ROMPS) to stay in touch with each other. These community Romps will sometimes include a fund raising feature to support our Rescue Program.

Program Long-Term Success:

As of 2010 we have approximately 45 communities through out the world. On average we have 40 various romps where the community gathers in a social setting.

Program Short-Term Success:

Each year the communities grow in doodle owner participation. Each year, despite the downturn of the economy, we have seen an increase in fund raising for our Rescue Program.

South California - 2010 Romp generated over 70 doodles and their owners. The fund raising at that romp generated enough funds to save and care for 10 dogs within our Rescue Program.

June 2010 - rescued 4 Goldendoodles from a hoarding situation in Oklahoma. Transported to Texas and provided medical care, cleaned them, removed serious mat from coats, and will continue to provide them excellent care as we review potential adopters.
