CEO/Executive Director Statement:

If an international ministry is to make a genuine impact on multiple levels, it must maintain an enduring and relevant presence, rising above the norm, reaching the unreached, passionately touching lives, and thus becoming an integral and meaningful part of the global ecclesia. To achieve this, a ministry must remain creative and willing to adapt to a changing world environment while adhering to a high standard of Judeo-Christian practices and ethics evidenced on every level.

In its unique approach to both ministry and administration, Heart of God International Ministries, an all-volunteer organization, has a history of instituting a Christ-centric blend of humanitarian and spiritual dynamics, bridging cultural and religious gaps by being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to all regardless of race, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, marital status, disability, or caste.

Matthew 22:37-40, summarizes the whole law of God: "`Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'  This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: `Love your neighbor as yourself.'  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

It is by this creed Heart of God International Ministries lives and works and rises to the surface among the vast ocean of non-profit organizations, fulfilling the greatest law of love toward God and all mankind.  And, it is by this creed this organization will maintain a powerful witness wherever and whenever called, all to the glory of God.

Program: Multi-Purpose Complex (India)

Budget:
$530,252
Category:
Education
Population Served:
Children and Youth (infants - 19 years.)
Poor/Economically Disadvantaged, Indigent, General
Adults

Program Description:

Multi-purpose complex includes

  • Dormitories for children (boys and girls)
  • Lavatories
  • Housing for teachers
  • Missionary Quarters
  • Classrooms for Preschool through High School
  • Chapel
  • Meeting Hall
  • Classrooms for Adult Education
  • Playground
  • Cafeteria and Kitchen
  • Parking
Complex will serve full-scale orphanage, provide employment for locals, classrooms for Christian education, quarters for missionaries, fellowship hall for use and/or rent by locals or visiting organizations to hold rallies, concerts, etc.  Complex will also serve as home base to HG-India local team, School of Ministry, and provide temporary shelter for those who are affected by natural disasters (floods, typhoons, etc).

Program Long-Term Success:

The purpose of this project is to provide an educational facility which will cater to the homeless, the orphan, the illiterate adults while making housing available in exchange for services rendered while living in the learning environment.  Pastoral training will be ongoing and those in the program will be required to do internship within the complex, training and teaching the children, while preparing for ministry within their own local villages.   By providing employment to locals who will tend to the maintenance of the premises and buildings, they will also be able to take classes to learn to read, equipping them for jobs that will support their own families.  The local team will live on the complex and oversee the work and cycle of education as the students are brought in and graduated out of the program and sent out to pursue further education or accept jobs for which they have become qualified.  Ultimately, we plan to see a true cycle develop which will enrich the local community and have a snowball effect as more locals hear about the program and get involved, with the program becoming self-sustaining and no longer in need of outside funding.

Program Short-Term Success:

It is of paramount importance to get the children off the streets and provide them with a stable Christian environment where they are safe, fed, clothed, and educated.  It is of equal importance to provide jobs in the local area for men and women who are able to work with upkeep and maintenance of the facilities and grounds.  Once these positions are in place and operating smoothly, we will see success, meeting our short-term goals within our prescribed budget.

Program Success Monitored by:

Our local team members will carefully monitor the progress of the plan, carefully budgeting each phase against a prescribed plan adopted by the Board of Directors.  Monthly reports are received by local team members showing details of expenditures, results from the expenditures, and identifying areas where additional funding might benefit the progress of the program.  Once the step-by-step plan is adopted by the Board, regular updates and regular communication with local team members will quickly reveal areas that need tighter control, more planning, or readjustment of short-term goals.

Program: Military Heritage Bible

$25,000
Category:
Religion
Population Served:
Military/Veterans

Quotes about the Word and historical Christians from an array of people like Sir Isaac Newton, George Washington, Napoleon, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill and other notable leaders will be interspersed throughout the Bible with corresponding, pertinent verses as well as back material.  A special directory for spiritual support services specializing in complementing standard care for PTSD will also be included inside the back of each Bible to provide soldiers who may be struggling with links to the care and assistance they require.

www.USHeritageBible.org

Program Long-Term Success:

Because Soldiers Bible Ministry (SBM) has an ultimate goal of providing spiritual and emotional helps to pre-deployed, deployed, and post deployed soldiers, the Soldiers Pocket Bible Heritage Edition will be factored into the national program of qualified experts via internet networking, connecting Veterans and their families with local support.  In addition to providing spiritual help leading to emotional stability, SBM's ultimate purpose is to use the Soldiers Pocket Bible as a means to achieve the goal of healthier men and women reentering society after war, leading to a sharp decline in post-deployment suicide and crime, healthier families, and more stable communities.

Program Short-Term Success:

By closely interacting with as many chaplains and individual troops as possible, the Soldiers Pocket Bible Heritage Edition will highlight military pride, foundations of faith, and a sense of participating in a military that is rich in heritage and faith. Increased morale on the bases (overseas and stateside) based on a renewed understanding of this nation's heritage will immediately begin to restore hope for a future despite the challenges men and women face in the military.

Program Success Monitored by:

A communications campaign is in place to interact personally with men and women in uniform and veterans to offer encouragement and provide them with Bibles and Bible study materials that resonate well with the military.

Program Success Examples:

Although we are currently using a standard-issue NIV complete Bible purchased from Biblica International, we have had hundreds of military men and women share their appreciation for the material we offer along with the Bible.  The feedback has been phenomenal and which will ultimately explode with the new publication as the reader realizes the rich heritage of faith in the US military.

AN ALL VOLUNTEER, GREAT INVESTMENT: HEART OF GOD INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES
December 10, 2009
WILLARD, OH:  From a rural farmhouse, a small non-profit organization led by a humble housewife reaches thousands worldwide with good news and support, touching the poorest of poor in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean as well as US and other allied troops.

For many years a dream dared to become reality. “Suddenly things began to fall into place and Heart of God International Ministries (HGIM) was initially formed under the name of Women of Passions,” stated Jan Ross, President, HGIM. Taking baby steps toward growth, the women’s ministry began to take on a more international focus with outreaches to Kenya and India. It wasn’t long until the decision was made to formally change the name of the ministry to reflect the true heart of God toward all peoples, nations, and tongues. HGIM was formally organized in November 2006 and received 501c3 non-profit status in January 2007.

During the past two years, HGIM has exploded into a powerful network of ministry operations led solely by volunteers who take no salary or support, making it possible for 100% of all designated donations to go directly into mission work. With a true heart of compassion, HGIM’s efforts have responded to the need for humanitarian relief and spiritual support, opening doors for both domestic (Soldiers Bible Ministry) and international (Haiti, India, Israel, Kenya, Uganda) ministry. With a recently expanded Board of Directors, HGIM does much of its work by partnering with indigenous ministries who are the hands and feet of both the domestic and international ministry operations.

Heart of God-Haiti joined HGIM’s network of outreaches late in 2008. Partnering with a local ministry, Col. David Young has taken this ministry to new heights as the day school now has an enrollment of 200 children and the adult literacy program reaches out to 80 students. An example of the powerful work being done in Haiti is seen in the recent testimony of a voodoo high priest who, having personally witnessed the power of prayer to God, totally surrendered his life, renounced his involvement in voodoo and is now sharing the Gospel with others who cannot deny the powerful change that took place in his life.

The ministry in India (Heart of God-India) is a balanced blend of evangelistic and humanitarian efforts, with ministry primarily focused in the remote tribal areas that are unreached. With 70 pastors representing over 150 churches, the outreach has grown exponentially since HGIM’s humble beginnings. Providing food and supplies to leper colonies, sponsorship programs for orphans living in the newly formed Heart of God Orphanage, sponsoring more than 50 pastors attending the Heart of God School of Ministry at no cost to them, conducting evangelistic crusades, providing emergency relief efforts, and conducting mission trips, is only part of the work being accomplished in India.

Heart of God-Israel is in its very beginning stages with an initial outreach to IDF soldiers by providing warm fleece-lined jackets to protect them during the cold winter months. A wide variety of other humanitarian projects are in the initial stages of planning.

Heart of God-Uganda is a fast-growing ministry branching out into many areas with humanitarian and evangelistic efforts. Partnering with Smile Africa Ministries in Tororo, a ministry feeding and educating over 450 homeless children and hundreds of widows is only a part of what is being accomplished. The 2010 Uganda Outreach is being organized to include free medical clinics, teacher’s seminars, men’s seminars, and youth rallies.

Additionally, HGIM serves men and women in uniform through Soldiers Bible Ministry (SBM), providing complete pocket Bibles to allied Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and/or Air Force personnel around the world, especially those in harm’s way. SBM also provides Bibles to those who request them in their native language, along with Bible study materials from solid sources that resonate well with military personnel.  SBM is in the process of publishing the Heritage Edition of the Soldiers Pocket Bible (due 2010) which will feature targeted helps and notes. Relevant quotes from historical figures such as Sir Isaac Newton, George Washington, Napoleon, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill and other notable leaders, will be interspersed throughout the Bible. A special directory for spiritual support services specializing in complementing standard care for PTSD will also be included inside the back of each Bible to provide soldiers who may be struggling with links to the care and assistance they require.

Other areas of HGIM’s ministry outreaches include an inner city ministry being formed to provide a unique outreach to the homeless, destitute, and oppressed in some of the major cities across the US.

To learn more about HGIM or to schedule a representative from HGIM to share with your church or organization, please contact John Hoben, Volunteer Director of Development by email (john.hoben@hobenassoc.com).
SOLDIERS BIBLE MINISTRY TO PRINT SPECIAL 2010 ALLIED FORCES POCKET BIBLE; HIGHLIGHTS 350+ YEAR OLD SOLDIERS POCKET EDITION
November 11, 2009
ROCHESTER, NY USA: Soldiers Bible Ministry (SBM), a division of 501c3 Heart of God International Ministries, Inc. announced today its plans for a special Heritage Edition Soldiers Pocket Bible.

“Our goal is to provide complete pocket Bibles for any allied Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and/or Air Force personnel around the world, especially those in harm’s way,” said John Hoben, Volunteer Executive Director of SBM.  “We provide Bibles to those who request them in their native language, along with Bible study materials from solid sources that resonate well with military personnel” Hoben added.

Plans for this edition include a camouflage cover titled, “THE WORD.”  Also included are the official Preambles for all 50 States in the USA, highlighting the use of “Almighty God” or similar title of the God of the Bible in each preamble.  This new publication will also include the facsimile reprints of the original Soldiers Pocket Bible which will be presented either in the front material or in pamphlet form to be inserted into each copy, reminding the reader of the precious heritage of the Word of God in the military throughout our nation’s history.

Special thanks to the Dunham Bible Museum at Houston Baptist University, Houston Texas, for making available facsimile pages from earlier Soldier Pocket Bible versions.  These versions include (1) the USA Civil War Edition facsimile reprint of the 1643 English Revolution under Cromwell which used scriptures pulled from the Geneva Bible (aka the Breeches Bible), and (2) the Spanish American War version facsimile reprint which contains the exact same verses for troops as the Oliver Cromwell edition of 1643 issued to his troops during the English Civil War, but was published using the KJV.
Initial release will include a 1611 King James Version and/or the Geneva 1599 version.  A “modern” English translation such as the International Standard Version (ISV) is also being considered for subsequent release.  “More commentaries have been written on the KJV and Geneva Bibles than nearly any other English translation; the first Soldiers Pocket Bibles produced in the common (as opposed to King’s) English used them both.  The historical significance of this cannot be understated,” noted Jan Ross, President, Heart of God International Ministries, Inc.  “That’s why we’re sticking to those earlier versions so soldiers will have a depth and breadth of additional study materials from which to review,” said Ross.

One special feature of the SBM Pocket Bible will be a special parchment, off-stock page designed to catch the thumb of the reader which will contain a call for true repentance inserted in line with Isaiah 53:6.  This core teaching from the Jewish Tanakh (the Old Testament) contains the central message of the entire Bible -- He bore the iniquities of us all.

Additionally, quotes about the Word and historical Christians from an array of people like Sir Isaac Newton, George Washington, Napoleon, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill and other notable leaders will be interspersed throughout the Bible with corresponding, pertinent verses as well as back material.  A special directory for spiritual support services specializing in complementing standard care for PTSD will also be included inside the back of each Bible to provide soldiers who may be struggling with links to the care and assistance they require.

SBM plans to release the new 2010 Soldiers Bible sometime in the late spring/early summer.  This special Heritage Edition will be sized so as to easily fit in a soldier’s pocket to keep with them while on patrols and performing other field work.

As always, Bibles and study materials will be made available free of charge to any who request them.  Copies of the 2010 Soldiers Bible will also be obtainable at a discounted rate by interested churches, ministries and groups.

November 08, 2010

WILLARD, OH:   Soldiers Bible Ministry (SBM) today announced it has contracted with WND Books to publish the 400 Anniversary King James Edition of the Military Heritage Bible.  “We sent the draft concept to several publishers earlier this year and WND Books was the number one choice for several unique reasons,” said John Hoben, Volunteer Executive Director, SBM.  “We are delighted to be working with The WND Books team on this important and timely publication after a year-long research selection process,” Hoben added.

This Bible will focus on the USA’s Judeo-Christian Bible-based national heritage, especially through military service.  The publication will also include special contributions from David Barton and Ray Comfort.  Availability is scheduled for Memorial Day in May 2011. More information on this unique publication can be found at http://USHeritageBible.org on the web.

 ABOUT SBM

According to Jan Ross, President of Heart of God International Ministries (http://HeartofGodInternational.org), the Ohio-based 501c3 not-for-profit parent organization of Soldiers Bible Ministry and other international initiatives, SBM exists to provide free Bibles and study materials to U.S. and allied troops. “It is our privilege and responsibility to assist chaplains with the spiritual care and well-being of US as well as allied troops serving with our men and women in uniform wherever they are stationed,” added Ross. SBM is staffed entirely by volunteers around the world.  See http://SoldiersBibleMinistry.org for more information.

ABOUT WND BOOKS

Founded in 2002 by WorldNetDaily’s Joseph and Elizabeth Farah, WND Books made an immediate impact with its first No. 1 New York Times bestseller, Michael Savage’s The Savage Nation. Several more bestsellers from the upstart rocked the publishing world.  After partnerships with Thomas Nelson and Cumberland Press, WND Books established a strategic alliance with Los Angeles-based World Ahead Publishing. In early 2008 WND acquired World Ahead, bringing WND Books in-house, as a wholly-owned subsidiary.  WND Books are distributed to the trade through Midpoint Trade Books, New York, and are available at major bookstores, online, and at WND*SUPERSTORE.
