Program Description:
We serve breakfast and lunch to 150-180 women six days each week. We have a shower and laundry facility, nap room, library/reading room and children's room. We distribute clothing, toiletries, and any other needed items to our guests on a daily basis. The Resource Center is a self-service office where women can use our shelter as their mailing address, get help with employment or apartment searches, and attend a variety of seminars on topics such as resume building, understanding your CORI, knowing how to vote. Our Advocacy and Legal Assistance Program helps women with all matters including housing, benefit options, immigration, divorce, and more. We also offer onsite health and medical services and educational classes on topics such as nutrition, first time mothers, diabetes, and more.
Program Long-Term Success:
In 2010, we served over 52,000 meals and in March 2011 alone, we served over 4,000 breakfasts and lunches to our guests.
