Mission Statement
Grounded in a spirituality that treasures the dignity of all, The Center for Great Expectations seeks to form a partnership with homeless pregnant women in creating a safe place, a safe presence and a safe path so that they may complete a healthy pregnancy, choose the next right step and follow through on their plan.

Program Description:
The Adolescent Program offers residential treatment to homeless, pregnant teens, and their children.
Program Long-Term Success:
Long-term success is exhibited by an adolescent who has transitioned into the community as a self sufficient health mother with a healthy baby, full time work, continuing education and financial independence.
Program Short-Term Success:
Short-term successes include a healthy pregnancy and delivery; development of positive parenting skills; continuation/graduation from high school; increase in self-esteem and life skills; healthy baby achieving benchmark developmental goals.
Program Success Monitored by:
Licensed counselors monitor progress through individual, family and group counseling. Parenting/Nursing Coorinator supervises growth in parenting skills and child development. Staff psychiatrist and psychologist oversee treatment plans.
Program Success Examples:
A recent graduate of the Adolescent Program is now in transitional housing with her healthy son, and continuing a liberal arts education with a goal of becoming a drug/alcohol counselor.

Program Description:
The Adult Women's Program offers residential treatment to homeless, pregnant or post-partum women with substance use disorder, and their children.
Program Long-Term Success:
Long-term success is demonstrated when graduates of this program rejoin the community as emotionally healthy women with a permanent job and housing, reunited with their children and successfully managing their substance use disoder.
Program Short-Term Success:
Short-term successes include a healthy pregnancy and delivery; obtaining GED and continuing education; reunification with additional chldren; learning to manage substance use disorder through regular counseling and psychiatric assistance.
Program Success Monitored by:
Licensed counselors monitor progress through individual, family and group counseling. Parenting/Nursing Coordinator supervises growth in parentling skills and child development. Staff psychiatrist and psychologist oversee treatment plans needed for long-term, sustained recovery.
Program Success Examples:
A graduate of the Adult Women's Program who obtained her GED and graduated from a culinary program while living in transitional housing, successfully parenting her young son, and maintaining long term recovery is now working as a peer support advisor for a local outpatient clinic.

The Center for Great Expectations raises approximately 30% of the funds needed to offer our clients this intensive, individualized, residential treatment plan.

Volunteer services such as driver, handyman, child care helper, electrician, special events helper, and so many more roles are integral to our mission at the Center. Please call our Director of Community Outreach and Volunteers at extension 25 for more information on how you can help.

In-kind contributions assist us in caring for the daily needs of the adolescents, women and children living here at the Center for Great Expectations. From donations of vehicles, food, clothing, gift cards to the always needed diapers, our appreciation and need for in-kind donations is boundless.
