Program Description:
In July, 2009, The Ireland Funds announced an exciting partnership with the renowned Irish band U2 to establishing a national music tuition program expanding music education for the primary school children of Ireland.
Program Long-Term Success:
Today, the scheme is underway and it is estimated that thousands of Irish children will receive musical tuition up to 2015. Louth, Mayo and Sligo are now the first three counties to be awarded funding for this unique initiative. 2012 will see the establishment of choirs, orchestras, kinder music pograms, bands, rock schools, music labs and much more. This is also a huge boost to Ireland's music industry as musicians, teachers and others are being recruited to support the program. More counties will follow as the program grows.
