Impact Statement from Nonprofit
Operation Bandanas has begun its 5th year of service to our military and received a record number of donations. Because of our longevity, we are receiving more and more requests for Psalm 91 bandanas. We have become a nationwide effort and receive donations from churches, organizations, citizens and friends and family of our military from all over the USA. Our main source of distribution is through the Chaplains. In 2010 we were able to provide 51,864 Psalm 91 bandanas to our troops for a grand total of 152, 689 bandanas being provided since November, 2006.
OpBan's expenditures for Program Services in 2010 was 92%. Administrative and Fundraising costs were kept to a minimum of 8%.
Lifeway Christian Resources, Nashville, TN, featured Operation Bandanas in its Deacon Magazine, Summer edition. K-Love Radio Network contacted and interviewed Mary Gray, Ex Dir.

Mary B Gray
Term:

2007
Chief Executive Profile:
Mary Gray is Founder of Operation Bandanas and conducts the daily business of OpBan. There is no staff, only volunteers and Board of Directors. Mary Gray began this organziation as a grass roots effort of providing Psalm 91 bandanas to our deployed troops. Her strengths are that she is a very people-oriented person, has good and speaking and writing skills, and has a compassionate heart for helping others. Her personal experience as a military wife for 20 years and having had two sons serve in the US Army with multiple deployments gives her the advantage of knowing the challenges of military service. Mary has worked with numerous non-profits for over 30 years and has gained expertise, education, and experience from them.
CEO/Executive Director Statement:
OpBan believes that the Psalm 91 bandana will encourage and inspire those who already know God and will be a catalyst to draw others to Him who have never opened a Bible or opened the door of a chapel/church before. Many will be introduced to God's word for the first time through the Psalm 91 bandanas. The bandanas are also well received, not only for their comfort and encouragment, but for their usefulness as well.

Program Description:
We have one and only one Program...sending Psalm 91 bandanas to our deployed and deploying military and other service men and women and their families who request Psalm 91 bandanas.
Program Long-Term Success:
Operation Bandanas will never know the true impact of our ministry, but from notes and emails from those having received the bandanas and the families who have been ministered to through us, we are touching lives and giving spiritual encouragement to tens of thousands of our troops. We are hoping our impact will be drawing our service men and women into a closer relationship to God.
Program Short-Term Success:

Funding Needs
This organization began on faith and with 0 dollars. Since our first request for donations in November, 2006, we have provided, as of this update (11/7/2011), 180,000 Psalm 91 bandanas to our service men and women. Every penny has come solely through the donations of grateful, generous citizens, churches, and friends and family of our military who want to continue to provide Psalm 91 bandanas to our Chaplains and troops. We must continue to receive donations in order to fulfill the many requests for the large number of bandanas requested, particularly, at this time with the drawdown in Iraq, from Afghanistan. The demand far exceeds our supply, so ongoing donations are needed and appreciated not only by our ministry, but for our military who are the recipients of the bandanas.
Volunteer Needs
Churches volunteer their services to fold and package the bandanas for distribution through personal delivery or mailing. Notes are often enclosed with the bandanas as well. We also need volunteers who will help spread the word of our mission to other so that our base of support will grow. Prayer.
Request for In-Kind Contributions
Office supplies, ie, ink, mailing envelopes and boxes, paper, fax machine; Zip-Lock or Glad sandwich size baggies for putting the bandanas into once folded. Printing of stationery and cards enclosed with the bandanas. Lap top computer.
