Mission Statement
The mission of Lighthouse Ministries Inc. (incorporated in 2007) is to improve the quality of lives of the less fortunate and most vulnerable in our communities through love, care, share, and use of social services. Our social service programs include provision of computer technology and solutions to give people with disabilities, students at-risk, underprivileged and economically disadvantaged youth the opportunities, through training, to lead independent and productive lives; preventive education regarding HIV/AIDS and alcohol, drug, and substance abuse to high-risk groups; intervention to combat child abuse and neglect; education and training to prevent violence against women and children; distribution of food and non-food items to those in need; and transportation assistance for the disabled, handicapped, or sick to medical errands. This includes devising training programs to reduce poverty, and social services initiatives in Africa to combat malaria, poverty, and HIV/AIDS. This mission is carried out by our dedicated and selfless volunteer force whose outreach efforts will find, stabilize, and assist these less fortunate and most vulnerable in our communities.

Impact Statement
Lighthouse Ministries, Inc has been hosting workshops and seminars aimed at combatting the spread of the pandemic disease, HIV/AIDS in various communities served. We have reached more than 1500 people including youth in both the U.S. and in Africa. Lighthouse Ministries, Inc has assisted over 125 vulnerable elders with managing daily activities; distributed food to the homeless, the sick, the disabled, and the vulerables which also include women and children; hosted workships to minimize child abuse and neglect in the U.S.; educated more than 2000 young people about preventing drug, alcohol, and substance abuse; and reached more than 800 people with the gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We have also distributed more than 3000 Bibles to people in the U.S. and in Africa free of charge.

Chief Executive Profile:
James Wolobah has more than 15 years of experience in the nonprofit arena both nationally and internationally. He had worked with the United Nations as Senior Field Officer in Africa in charge of major humantarian services involving over 500,000 displaced refugees including women and children. He also headed the contruction of the first ever bilingual library project in Guinea benefitting nearly 750,000 people, and was instrumental in the fight against HIV/AIDS. In the United States he has served with several charities both governmental and private, and inspired many lives. Mr. Wolobah holds a bachelor's in Business Administration and a Master's in Human Services.
CEO/Executive Director Statement:
James B. Wolobah is the founder and President of Lighthouse Ministries, Inc. He has been actively involved in helping people nationally and internationally. Mr. Wolobah previously served as regional coordinator for the Association of Evangelicals of Liberia – Guinea Branch, spearheading leadership training and reconciliation conferences for 16 churches.
He also served with the United Nations Higher Commissioner for Refugees as senior field officer in charge of the voluntary repatriation of more than 400,000 refugees from Liberia and Sierra Leone. He coordinated humanitarian operations to refugees as well as educated the local populace about HIV/AIDS prevention. He collaborated with other agencies to create a bilingual library in Guinea benefiting approximately 500,000 people. Collaborating agencies included the International Rescue Committee (IRC), the United Nations Higher Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the governments of France and Guinea, the World Bank, and the University of Virginia.
In the United States, Mr. Wolobah has served as volunteer for a number of nonprofits. He has a passion and desire to help those in need and to improve their quality of life, and stresses that Lighthouse Ministries, Inc provides social services assistance to all regardless of religious background or affiliation, age, status, race, nationality or sex.

Program Description:
Programs to assist vulnerable elders with basic non-medical living needs; food distribution to children and at-risk adults including the homeless; education to prevent child abuse and neglect; education to young people to prevent alcohol, drug, and substance abuse; education to high-risk group to prevent and or curtail the spread of HIV/AIDS; transportation assistance to the disabled, the handicapped, the sick, and the elderly to medical errands; education to prevent violence against women and children, and education programs to combat HIV/AIDS infection and poverty in parts of Africa. The beneficiaries are the general public.
Program Long-Term Success:
We have been collaborating with Mission America Coalition and the Lighthouse Movement to reach many U.S. Cities and we praise God for the many lives that are being transformed all across America and in Africa. To achieve programs long term success, we will continue to explore funding opportunities from various sources as well as fundraising initiatives to provide for programmatic support.
Program Short-Term Success:
In the short term, our program will help to alleviate if not minimize poverty through training and education of target groups; minimize HIV/AIDS education; minimize drug, alcohol, and substance abuse; minimize child abuse and neglect; and improve the quality of lives of the vulnerables including elders, disabled, and homeless. The short term success shall be tracked, measured and achieved on a yearly basis. Data will be collected , evaluated, analyzed, interpreted, and shared.
Program Success Monitored by:
Monitoring and evaluation will also be carried out using various qualitative and quantative measurement tools by program staff and or outside organizations.
Program Success Examples:
1. With a target group of nearly 6500 young people, at least 5 percent will stop abusing drug, acohol, and illegal substances.
2. More than 10 percent of the local populace in Memphis-Shelby County will be targeted with education to prevent HIV/AIDS, and atleast 6 percent will have a behavior change and to educate others at risk of infection. This target group will include gays, at-risk youth and adults, and intravenous drug users.
3. Child abuse and neglect will be reduced by 3 percent through massive public awareness education and publicity.
4. HIV/AIDS infection will be reduced by 20 percent in Africa through health talks programs in various indigenous dialects and languages.
Funding Needs
We need funding for our various education programs including HIV/AIDS and drug, alcohol, and illegal substance abuse, etc.

We always have needs for volunteers, and are open to anyone with moral character wanting to positively transform the lives of others.
Request for In-Kind Contributions
If financial contribution is not possible, in-kind contributions are most welcomed. There are needs for copiers, printing materials, vehicles, used shoes, pens, etc.
