CEO/Executive Director Statement:
NOFHA is one of the “signs of recovery in our city” according to the Times Picayune, our local news paper. Indeed the Board of Directors and the staff feel that NOFHA represents the way health care should be practiced in our country. At the core of NOFHA’s operating principles is the belief that wellness requires long-term attention to our emotional, spiritual and physical health. In choosing to focus our mission on the working uninsured, we offer a hand up and not a hand out to individuals working hard to take care of themselves and their families. This also means that we accept no form of insurance- federal/state (Medicaid) or private and so we depend on the call of the medical community to serve. Our providers- like our member-patients- come from all walks of life, but share the same belief; we must care for the whole person in order to have a healthy community. We are happy to share our story and what we do with anyone and also happy to receive support (volunteers, donations) in any capacity. Thank You.

Health Coaches utilize goal setting, identification of obstacles, and the use of personal support systems.
