Impact Statement
This past year we placed over 200 adult cats and kittens into loving and deserving homes. Because we have a detailed and demanding placement criteria, including extensive interviews (including with veterinarians known to the adoptor) and site visits, and because of our personal follow-up post adoption, we know that each has found a loving home and is happy and well-adjusted.

Chief Executive Profile:
Formerly an executive with TWA and American Brands, Ms. Khanton has superior corporate experience.
CEO/Executive Director Statement:
We would like all animal rescues and adoption centers to be like ours - cage free, spotlessly clean, and truly dedicated and committed to those entrusted to us. Agencies such as ours should be only about those we are helping - and should never be about "helping ourselves". We live by that credo, never making decisions concerning an animal's welfare based on the "economics", but solely based on what is right. As a result, despite advice from veterinarians to the contrary, we have spent countless hours and sums of money rehabilitating injured and sick cats - nursing many on death's door back to health to enjoy a full and normal life.

Funding Needs
Long Island Feline Adoption Center is wholly dependent on contributions to carry out its important mission. All donations go solely to the caring for cats and kittens - as the 990 reflects no money is spent on officer or staff salaries - or on "workarounds" such as professional fees or contractor services. So unlike so many other charities - 100% of the money donated goes to sheltering, feeding, and providing health care for cats and kittens awaiting adoption. The more we have in donations, the more cats and kittens we can care for. Last year, we adopted out over 200 cats and kittens from our single-site adoption center. Obviously contributions of all kinds - including supplies and food - are very welcome as well. As a legitimate 501(c)(3) your donations are tax deductible.
Volunteer Needs
We need volunteers - both to staff the Smithtown center and to function as foster parents or as caregivers to colonies. We cam never have enough volunteers to provide comfort and socialization for our cats and kittens.
Request for In-Kind Contributions
We welcome the donation of professional services and products (veterinary, food, exercise, etc.). Visit the camera on our website (
http://www.li-cat.org) to get a sense of the activities we provide our loving cats and kittens.
