Impact Statement

BECA is dedicated to inspiring and empowering youth education in Nicaragua.

Specifically, BECA facilitates technical school scholarships for committed high school graduates who can't afford to continue their education.

BECA Students January 2012

Candidates are qualified via a six month screening process that includes a computer course and full-time volunteering in a primary school.

Those that finish receive a scholarship to study a technical career of their choice. The scholarship includes transportation expenses, tuition and books.

BECA supervises their progress by monthly visits to either their home or school.

Our cause is educational inequality in Nicaragua among high school grads. BECA envisions a future where all Nicaraguan high school graduates share the same educational opportunities.

Students receiving scholarships are asked to participate in two weekend community projects monthly.
