Program Description:
Since 2003, Visions has conducted over 18 youth leadership trainings in
the countries where we work, facilitated by nearly 100 international
volunteers and dozens of local volunteers. Trainings are held at
universities, schools and children's homes, where international and
local volunteers join hands to work with youth on a variety of skills
building activities and projects. The purpose of these trainings is to
help youth establish Visions Leadership Councils in their schools and
communities. The Visions leadership curriculum incorporates: Leadership
& Life Skills Lessons and Activities; Small Group Planning &
Events; Readings and Exercises in Human Rights; Discussions on Global
& Local Issues; Professional/Academic Planning; Local Speakers;
Discussions/Critical Thinking & Current Events; Cultural Exchange
Sessions; Special Lessons: Environment, Health, etc.; Sports, Dance,
Art, Yoga; Field Trip & Service Visit; and more.

Program Description:
Visions' local partners help identify students in need of scholarships.
Support is provided in a number of ways, including school tuition,
vocational fees, room and board for residential students, transportation
support, basic educational & life necessities, and more. As with
all of our efforts, we prioritize partnerships with organizations and
schools that reach out to disadvantaged groups, such as Internally
Displaced Persons (IDPs), refugees, or youth from families experiencing
chronic poverty.

Program Description:
Teacher professional development and training is a tremendous need,
particularly in areas affected by poverty and conflict. Visions
coordinates and organizes teacher training programs by connecting
experts in a particular subject to a group of teachers in need of
additional support. Training topics include psychosocial support,
English, IT, and Leadership & Life Skills.

Program Description:
Visions is driven, managed, and supported by youth and young
professionals for the benefit of disadvantaged youth in South Asia.
Based in Los Angeles, CA, volunteers frequently travel to Sri Lanka and
India on behalf of the organizations to work with youth, to implement
projects, and to empower local nonprofit organizations. We also offer a
variety of domestic internships and volunteer opportunities.
