- Encouraging and Enabling the Church to participate in the process with us (1Timothy 2:1-4)

- Engaging those who desire to participate in the ministry by offering their time and talents (Matthew 25:20)

CEO/Executive Director Statement:
God is placing a spiritual hunger in the hearts of many of our legislators, their staff, lobbyists and others in our Capitol communities. Because of the present unstable times, many of our elected officials are searching for answers, stability and meaning as they conduct government business.
It is in this environment that our ministry has evidenced incresing numbers attending our weekly Bible studies and other sponsored events. We continue to believe as Esther did, that God has strategically placed us in our Capitol communities "for such a time as this," and we are seizing every opportunity to draw those whom He has called one step closer to Jesus. We are commmited to doing so with integrity, excellence and accountability.
Would you be encouraged to see more legislators conduct their business to the glory of God? If so, consider partnering with us. "Partner" is the name the Apostle Paul used to describe those who helped enable and empower his ministry (Philippians 1:3-5a). Our partners are blessed by investing their prayers, their finances and/or their time. Join us and experience the joy of bringing light, hope, truth and life-change to those who make up the capitol community.

We have built our bible studies so that in the present legislative year almost 25% of the legilators in the 18 states attend our bible studies.
Program Success Monitored by:
State directors of Capitol Commission are compiling data on who has attended their Bible studies, been counseled, or impacted by the ministry of Capitol Commission and where they are serving at the present time.
Program Success Examples:
"The anchor of a Christ-centered Bible study led by an unassuming but committed and discerning servant of Christ has been a blessing to me and my colleagues in this sea of manmade turmoil."

Prayers for Leaders in Authority
- Budget:
-
$5,000
- Category:
-
Religion
- Population Served:
-
Adults
Program Description:
The state directors divide up national, federal, and state leaders into groups which are calendarized. These calendars are printed and distributed to people at the state capitols and to all who desire to do what we are directed to do in 1Tim2:1-4. Pray for all those in authority.
Program Long-Term Success:
1First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2(A) for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and(B) dignified in every way. 3This is good, and(C) it is pleasing in the sight of(D) God our Savior, 4who desires(E) all people to be saved and(F) to come to(G) the knowledge of the truth. 1Tim2:1-4 commands us to pray for those in authority and God's word never returns void.
Program Short-Term Success:
"I appreciate Matthew Barnes’ emphasis on prayer… In Indiana, those of us in authority have big decisions to make and we need Hoosiers to pray. I am also thankful for the written Bible studies Matthew provides to the Statehouse community. We need divine wisdom to be good stewards." Indiana Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman

Program Long-Term Success:
The support of the ministers of each state are vitality important in providing funding, spiritual support, and volunteers for the Capitol Commission ministry in each state. Without their involvement in our ministry in such activities as Pastors Commission to the Capitol our ministry cannot continue to operate.
Program Short-Term Success:

The state directors are primarily responsible for monitoring the success of Pastors Commission to the Capitol but the staff and board of Capitol Commission are always interested in reviewing the results of these events.
Program Success Examples:
"Jean Ann and I support this ministry every month. I hope you will find it in your heart to do the same… If there is any place we need ministry, it is in the halls of government in our country today, and Capitol Commission does a great job."
Virginia Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling
REPRESENTATIVE ANN PURCELL (GA)
"I greatly appreciate the written Bible studies that Ron provides for the Capitol community. When home is distant and the intensity of the legislative session is upon us, God’s Word is always the strength and wisdom we need. I am thankful for the spiritual resources and prayers that Capitol Commission provides to our beautiful state."
REPRESENTATIVE MIKE THOMSON (MO)
"When we are away from home, working long hours and under a lot of pressure, the opportunity to meet as a group helps to keep us grounded and to keep our priorities in order. I appreciate the opportunity to get to know my colleagues in a completely different setting, and I appreciate the effort to touch our lives in a positive way."
Funding Needs
Each of the state directors raises funds for their state ministry. These missionaries must raise money to cover their salary and expenses. The national headquarters also raises some of the funds necessary to support the administration of this important national ministry.
In order to increase our prescence in the other 32 state capitols and the nation's capitol we will require additional financial support.
Volunteer Needs
Each state director can use volunteers to pass out bible studies to the staffs of the state legislators, stay in contact with the legislators through mail and email, and assist with the various fund raising activities such as dinners, golf tournaments, and the like.
Request for In-Kind Contributions
We desire to have the best in class websites, literature, and programs. Any In-kind contributions that fit these needs as well as tangible support for our state directors and their families will be appreciated.
