Mission Statement
Mom to Madre extends a hand, in English and Spanish, to young moms trying to beat the odds. We focus on mothers who are participating in Social Service programs in San Diego County for low- income families with children from birth to age five. Our outstanding volunteers provide bilingual information, education and support to help moms provide their young children with the loving foundation necessary for learning and excelling in school. ©Mom to Madre 2010

* Our parenting presentations grow in number monthly and are listed on our website at: http://momtomadre.org/about/our-presentations/
Original Goals
GOAL #1 Provide a DVD of Mom to Madre’s parent education videos to at least 18 preschools for low-income families in San Diego County beginning Fall 2009-2010; and present literacy and parenting information during a parent meeting presentation to at least 18 preschools.
IMPACT: From 10/2009 to 12/2011, we have given more than 150 free presentations to parents in social service programs, parenting classes, family literacy parties, and community outreach events. We have posted 63 parent education and informational videos by Mom to Madre on http://vimeo.com/user2594455/videos and have created our new YouTube channel: youtube.com/momtomadre for public access.
GOAL #2 Give a new cookbook to each family participating at one chosen preschool program for low-income families in San Diego County. We aim to donate 200 cookbooks during 2010.
IMPACT: By 12/8/2010, we reached this goal and donated more than 1500 books to individuals, schools, and organizations. In 2011 we have donated more than 2000 books-more than 1300 of them new children's books- to families and kids in San Diego County.
GOAL #3 Develop a Speakers’ Bureau comprised of women who are both mothers and professionals who will become volunteer presenters to speak on their area of expertise with the mothers at the preschool parent meetings.
IMPACT: By 12/8/2010 we reached this goal and have speakers in both English and Spanish who have donated their time to provide presentations and videos. In 2011 we added new speakers for bilingual presentations and videos.

Chief Executive
Mrs. Constance Goldin
Term:
Since
Oct
2009
Chief Executive Profile:
My most important accomplishment has been raising my two sons (who are now 25 and 27 years old) as a "stay at home" mom with my husband. Before founding Mom to Madre in 2009, I returned to school to obtain fluent reading, writing and speaking skills in Spanish. From 1999 to 2003 I developed a home school and functioned as the administrator and teacher.
My volunteer accomplishments include creating the “Visiting Artist Program” for Correia Junior High School, while serving as PTA president; creating the "Young Artist Showcase" with a fellow Advisory Board Member of the Coronado School of the Arts; and chairing a Youth Tennis San Diego "Wimbledon Tournament" fundraiser. Through my work as a volunteer I developed and refined planning and
organizing skills which I now plan to devote to making Mom to Madre a great success.
Prior to having a family I served as: Counselor; Assistant Director YMCA Human Development Center (HDC) Jan. 1978 -1982 including Project Oz, Intern and Counselor to families and adolescents;
HDC, Assistant Director and Director of the YMCA counseling Clinic with administrative duties, grant writing and program development responsibilities.
