A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University (Masters, Environmental Pollution Control) and Miami University, Ohio (B.S., Aeronautics), Jock began his career as manager and director of the Richmond Comprehensive Community Management Program in Richmond, Indiana. While there, the program was awarded the National Award for Energy Innovation, the Indiana Award for Energy Innovation, and other reputable local and state awards. He also served as a consultant to the Ontario, Canada Ministry of Energy.
Jock moved to People Working Cooperatively in 1987, first spearheading the weatherization program and later serving as special projects manager, operations director, executive vice president, and finally, president in 2002.
Under his leadership, PWC has earned the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Seal of Charitable Accountability and is a three-time Torch Award Finalist for ethical business management. PWC has grown from an annual budget of $3.3 million in 1987 to $14.4 million in 2010; from 2,002 total services in 1987, to more than 13,000 in 2010. Jock’s management of PWC’s partnership with Duke Energy Ohio/Kentucky has helped the energy conservation program grow and flourish from 1,054 energy services in 1987 to more than 6,148 in 2009.
