Mission Statement
The mission of the National Academy of Music is to promote, support and advance the art and science of music and to encourage and motivate musicians of all ages, nationalities and levels of ability through the provision of goals and the measurement of progress.

Impact Statement
The National Academy of Music is pleased to announce a call for submissions for the ‘International Music Prize for Excellence in Composition 2011’, an international competition for composers of all ages and nationalities. The goal of this competition is to stimulate composers of all ages and nationalities to write new, high-quality music for educational purposes and motivate highly talented composers to persist in building a career in composition by rewarding them with recognition and honor.

The goal of this competition is to encourage and motivate highly talented performers of all ages and levels, from the earliest stages to professional, to persist in building a career in music performance by rewarding them with recognition and honor. The competition is open to performers of all ages and nationalities.

Chief Executive Profile:
He graduated with Degrees in harmony, counterpoint, fugue, school music teaching and band instrumentation from the Macedonian Conservatory and with a post-degree Diploma with distinction in composition from Philippos Nakas Conservatory, Greece. He also holds graduate and postgraduate qualifications in orchestral conducting, military bandmastership, musicology and euphonium performance from the Royal College of Music, London, Thames Valley University and the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. He also studied orchestral conducting and ethnomusicology at the 'Accademia Musicale Chigiana' in Italy and music for the theatre at 'Intercultura-AFS' in Portugal with a scholarship from the European Communities. He holds the position of the principal of the Municipal Conservatory of Neapolis and bandmaster of the Municipal Band of Neapolis. He also serves as a local representative of Trinity College London and corporate director of the National Academy of Music, USA. He gave performances in Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Italy, Spain, Portugal and the UK. He has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, London.

The National Academy of Music is an all-volunteer organization. Volunteers are the heart of the Academy and play a vital role in the capacity and success of the organization. None of our directors, officers, partners and members receive any compensation for services rendered to the organization or any other benefit from the organization.

Volunteer Needs
The National Academy of Music is an all-volunteer organization. Volunteers are the heart of the Academy and play a vital role in the capacity and success of the organization. The Academy’s programs are administered by its Artistic Committee, a team of composers, performers, theorists and musicologists. Appointment is normally for a one year term and the appointment is ratified by the Academy’s Board of Directors. The appointment of a new member of the Artistic Committee normally begins with a ‘self-nomination’, followed by a staged educational process. Serving the Academy as a member of the Artistic Committee is an honorary and voluntary position.
