AELE was founded in 1966 as an educational organization, for the purpose of establishing a voice for law-abiding citizens in the Supreme Court, and to lend support to professional law enforcement. AELE will not defend or represent officials who act in bad faith or with a reckless disregard for the civil rights of others. When appropriate, AELE will file a brief against a governmental entity or law enforcement official.
