Mission Statement
Guiding Light Mission exists to create a healing experience that allows individuals to discover a new life in Christ. We expect re-engagement in community. We provide food and shelter to all and resources to men that support their social, physical, spiritual and intellectual needs.

Stuart Ray has been a well-known, West Michigan community member for many years, active in a variety of business, education, and social-purpose ventures.
Stuart has served on numerous boards of directors, including The Christian School Association, Hope College, Mercy Hospital, and the Chamber of Commerce.
His community efforts and ability to inspire others have been acclaimed by various groups: Ernst & Young named him "Socially Conscientious Entrepreneur of the Year"; Partners in Public Education named him "Employer of the Year"; the Hugh Michael Behan Foundation recognized him for contributions to racial diversity and commitment to education excellence. He is also active in the Heartside Ministry.
Stuart and his wife, Anne, have three children and two grandchildren.
CEO/Executive Director Statement:
Our goal at Guiding Light Mission is to provide opportunities for those in need. We do that through our residential addiction recovery program, by assisting the newly homeless with resources so as to not allow for a chronic homeless situation. We are about empowerment vs. enabling.

Program Description:
Guiding Light operates a 4 level program. Level 1 of the program offers daytime shelter, lunch and dinner, support groups, chapel services, referral services, and an emergency shelter for men only. Level 2-4 programs offer classes and training on: ? Freedom from Addiction ? Developing Social Skills ? Critical Thinking ? GED Education ? Budgeting Money ? Becoming Employable For graduates of Level 4 Guiding Light continues to assist and provide transitional housing for individuals as they seek independence.

Guiding Light served everyone who came through their doors and continued to show them the love of Jesus Christ.

Volunteer Needs
Guiding Light Mission operates on a $1,000,000 budget. Therefore, we rely heavily on volunteers. Volunteer opportunities range from serving meals, making beds, and cleaning to a variety of professional opportunities such as giving Chapel, providing counseling services, legal advice and more.
