Leadership Statement:

It seems like just yesterday it was too difficult for me to take a baby crib, high chair, and sitter to summer camp; and Therapy and Fun began. During our first summer we had seven children and three staff. These days we nearly fill to our capacity of 40 children with 75 staff members. My how we’ve changed!

I know that I have watched the children who attend our summer program grow and flourish. Our special education services helps over 300 students throughout West Michigan achieve academically. I have watched as our volunteers mature, graduate (high school and college) and now are changing the world. I know I am not any older.

Over the 29 years we have seen many changes, but one thing remains. The support we have received from you, our community, never ceases to amaze me. It is with this help that we have been able to grow, change and continue helping children walk, talk, learn and play – so they can read and write.

Jean Silbar MA, CCC-SLP
Executive Director
