Program Description:

Global Citizens Network sends short-term teams of volunteers to communities in other cultures where participants immerse themselves in the culture and daily life of the community. Each volunteer team is partnered with a local grassroots organization active in meeting local needs.

Program Long-Term Success:

Through cooperative effort, teams of individuals are collaborating on small scale development initiatives that enhance the lives of the communities with whom we partner. Trip participants comment: "GCN gives its participants the gift of slowly realizing THEY are the gift- sharing themselves with the people and accepting the gift of who these people truly are in exchange. We touch their lives in real, not monetary ways, person to person." "The pride and determination of the people who are working very hard with almost no resources puts my work ethic to shame. I was also blown away by the complexity and beauty of the culture." "Experiencing life among indigenous people shifts my perspective each and every time driving me to make changes in my own lifestyle." "You can't help but have personal learning and growth on these trips even if they don't go as expected. I feel like I am much more of a global citizen after participating in this trip."
