Mission Statement
An individual or family who has been homeless and takes the necessary steps to find suitable housing will often move in without basic necessities. By providing essential items such as blankets, linens, towels and dishes, Second Starts is increasing the chances that those served will be financially able retain their housing.

Sally Schrock serves as the non-paid Executive Director of the organization. Two years after establishing the charity as a part-time endeavor and personal mission, Sally left her position as operations manager of a medical billing service to devote her full-time energy to the ongoing work of Second Starts. She brings with her more than 20 years of management and supervisory experience from medical practice management and billing disciplines. Sally also fills a variety of volunteer positions at the local, district and denominational levels for the Church of the Brethren, headquartered in Elgin, Illinois.
