Mission Statement

In 1988, Wayne Muller founded Bread for the Journey to serve people and communities in need. Listening closely to people who live in impoverished areas, we try to form helpful relationships with those who seek to serve their communities. Our work is to find these quiet saints, and help them make their dreams happen. While they have very little money, they are rich in things far more valuable - wisdom, courage, and faith. With a small amount of help from Bread for the Journey, their commitment blossoms into day care centers, food banks, youth programs, community centers, and mentoring programs.
