Chief Executive Profile:
Ms. DeVito, former program manager for CFH has with the organization for six years. She brought with her to Catholics for Housing, 12 years of experience with the Milford Housing Authority, (MHA) in Milford Connecticut. While at MHA, Karen was responsible for managing the Section 8 Program and the Public Housing Program for families. Karen also developed a Family Self-Sufficiency program, which served the families in both programs. Under Karen's direction, 50+ families were able to achieve their goals, attending college, buying homes and providing a higher education for their children. Karen earned HUD certifications in Public Housing Management, Section 8 Management and Housing Quality Standards Inspections, represents Supervisor John Jenkins on the Prince William County Housing Board and is affiliated with many other housing organizations.
CEO/Executive Director Statement:
The staff and board of directors of Catholics for Housing are committed to creating affordable housing opportunities. The primary focus of CFH is to create homeownership and rental opportunities close to the place of employment for first responders, public and private school teachers, and other members of the workforce. Members of the Board of Directors and staff have many years experience in housing development in the for profit and non-profit sectors.
