Impact Statement

The association uses all communication channels available to raise awareness about sleep apnea, a condition that affects at least 18 million adults in the United States. In the past year the ASAA broadcast its public service announcement video achieving nearly 25 million impressions. The association's Facebook fans page has more than 1500 "likes".

Edward Grandi joins the ASAA as its Executive Director after serving as the Director of Development for a Washington-based social service agency and an interfaith organization. A graduate of St. Johns College in Annapolis Maryland Mr. Grandi spent more than 20 years as a property/casualty insurance broker in Washington, DC. Mr. Grandi has served as officer and a director of numerous non-profit organizations in Washington and Maryland.

ASAA hosts Sleep Apnea and Trucking Conference
May 12, 2010
The ASAA co-sponsored with the Federal Motor Carrier Administration and the American Trucking Associations the first ever educational conference devoted to sleep apnea and trucking. More than 420 people gathered in Baltimore to hear presentations on sleep apnea and how it impacts the trucking industry. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with more than 30 exhibitors for products and services for the trucking industry.
