Mission Statement
To share the aloha spirit with visitors affected by adversity. We provide supportive services to visitors who are without other support systems because they are away from home and often without resources to meet immediate needs following a crime, medical incident, death or other adversity.

Impact Statement
Staff and volunteers assist over 600 island visitors each year -- to reduce the stress they face in dealing with trauma. We help to turn a negative situation into something more positive.

Because of the geographic isolation of our island state, it is often more difficult for visitors to access their own resources in the event of a crime or medical situation. VASH helps to fill the gap until a visitors own resources can be accessed. We are that "friend and neighbor" for someone far from home.

Seeking $2,000 to develop a 30 second video PSA on ocean safety in conjunction with the Ocean Safety Division of the County Fire Department.
Seeking $7,000 in annual funding for air time on the local "visitor channel."
Goal is to help prevent ocean accidents and deaths among visitors who are unaccustomed to our island's beaches.
