CEO/Executive Director Statement:
WVU at Parkersburg, faced with significant challenges, continues to offer an exceptional level of post-secondary education to students from rural Appalachia for just $2,000 a year. Certification test scores in the areas of nursing, accounting and general education, indicate WVU-P graduates acquire a greater competence in their field of study than those priveleged students who are able to attend a more traditional college. WVU at Parkersburg is experiencing a significant increase in enrollment this year as a result of recent plant closings. Many of the college's newest students are non-traditional learners, over 25 years old, either acquiring a new skill or improving a skill set to ensure their families' futures are secure.
