IMR administers studies in a wide range of areas from Mental Health, Cardiology, Infectious Disease, and many more.

Program Long-Term Success:

Established in 1989, IMR has been involved with many medical discovers and patents with a focus on bettering the lives of Veterans, with an overall gain for all people.

Program Short-Term Success:

Recently many breakthroughs have been made with PTSD through research on Veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Program Success Monitored by:

All programs (studies) are monitored by oversight committees and review boards.

Program Success Examples:

Dr. Kenneth Schmader helped to test Zoster vaccine for shingles. “This is a very valuable and powerful tool to reduce the pain and suffering from shingles and postherpetic neuralgia,” says Kenneth E. Schmader, MD, vice-chief, Division of Geriatrics, Department of Medicine, GRECC, Durham, Va, and Duke University Medical Centers, Durham, NC.
