Mission Statement
Love INC exists to mobilize the Church, of all denominations, to reach out to serve the poor, elderly and disabled. Love INC partners with over 180 churches, of 23 denominations. It provides a means for volunteers in those churches to serve their surrounding community in physical as well as spiritual ways. Services such as transportation, housecleaning, yardwork, food delivery, furniture and appliance donations, wheelchair ramp construction and much more are provided by Love INC church volunteers.

Impact Statement
Each year over 12,000 low income individuals receive assistance from more than 2,500 church volunteers throughout Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. About 70% of the people served are elderly or disabled. The rest are mostly single mothers. Love INC also partners with many small and large businesses in the community to provide services for low income individuals. Because of the heavy volunteer participation, along with materials donations from businesses, Love INC is able to return about $3.00 in materials and service to the community for every $1.00 in cash donations.
Love INC seeks to serve those individuals who are "falling between the cracks" of the community, and for whom there are no other services available.

Chief Executive Profile:
Pat Marcum, Executive Director, has served as director of three nonprofit organizations in the Charlotte area over the last 25 years. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, she served as executive director of the Carolina Raptor Center for ten years and of MedAssist of Mecklenburg for two and one-half years.
Her vision for Love INC is that the organization may serve as a means of unity and reconciliation in the Church, as church volunteers of all denominations and ethnic backgrounds work together to serve those in need.

Program Description:
In 2004, more than 7,000 people in our community received assistance from the Love INC network. Services such as transportation, housecleaning, yardwork, food delivery, furniture and appliance donations, wheelchair ramp construction and much more are provided by Love INC church volunteers. Love INC's Adopt An Elder Program provides care team services to elderly or disabled individuals. These teams provide many services to assist the recipients to remain independent and in their own homes longer. Love INC's Budgeting Assistance program trains the working poor in how to budget limited resources, get out of debt and in understanding credit. The Samaritan Saturdays program links groups of volunteers doing projects in the Community with people who need their help. Love INC receives referrals of people with needs from more than 100 social service agencies, hospitals, clinics, police departments, home health agencies and churches. Love INC office volunteers verify the legitimacy of the needs, then refer them on to Love INC partner church volunteers, who then go out to fill the need. Love INC leverages every donated dollar to the maximum. Love INC is proud that for every $1.00 donated, at least $4.00 in materials and services to clients results.
