Program Description:
Impact: While improving the health of almost 8000 Haitians, FHM’s care provided encouragement and hope to the community. By employing 23 Haitian health care workers, FHM also supported more than150 extended family members. Of the more than 1300 women who were screened for cervical cancer, almost 200 patients received followup, preventive treatment.

· The public health clinic with nine employees serves 500 patients per month including prenatal care and childhood immunizations.

Program Description:
Impact: By providing training to combat stress, FHM helped the women from the Leogane Advisory Group help themselves and their fellow community members. The new programs have built the women’s self-confidence in their ability to cope and to affect their environment.
The ongoing cervical cancer prevention program screened more than 900 women and provided follow-up, preventive treatment for more than 100 patients.

· Support for the local nursing school, Faculté des Sciences Infirmières de Léogâne, through a nursing scholarship program.

· Research collaboration with faculty and graduate students through the Duke Global Health Institute, and for undergraduates through Duke Engage and the Duke Haiti Lab.

Program Long-Term Success:
Impact:
FHM has helped sustain the hope and vision of this devastated community by providing regular construction teams, ongoing funds, prayers, and plans for the future. At the Saint Antoine School, students are back in session in temporary buildings. The school has attracted more students than ever, increasing to 600, grades pre-K through 13. In spite of the earthquake, the children had exceptionally high pass rates on national exams.
Program Short-Term Success:
At the orphanage, there are new temporary structures for children adjacent to the school.
The new kitchen and latrines also serve the Sisters of Fondwa as well as visitors.
Fatima House Orphanage: continued financial support for 55 children.
Saint Antoine School: Continued financial support for 48 teacher and staff salaries, and school supplies.
Nutrition Program: Restarted after the earthquake.
