Kathy's diverse background includes working as a pediatric nurse practitioner, running an adolescent health clinic, overseeing both government and industry-sponsored research and directing educational programs.  In 2003, Kathy's skills in maternal and child health came together.  She became the Executive Director for Family Health Ministries, focusing on the health and education of women and children in resource-poor communities.

CEO/Executive Director Statement:

Dear Friends,

In 2010, Family Health Ministries (FHM) celebrated its 10th anniversary. It was a year for refl ection, thinking about where we started and how far we have come. In 2011, we are looking towards the future and celebrating the amazing relationships that are helping FHM make a difference in the world.

Every person who volunteers through the many opportunities for mission outreach, office administrative tasks, research and educational efforts gives meaning to our lives and the lives of those we serve.

Over the next year, we need the person who writes the thank you notes and folds the brochures, we need the person who can help us plan and promote our annual fundraiser, we need the person who can travel to Haiti and be our “ministry of presence,” and we need the person who can write a check for $10 or $100,000 to help us continue to grow and take on new projects like building the Leogane Family Health Center.

Family Health Ministries is an extended family and each of us shares our God-given time, talents and treasures. The contribution of more than 10,000 volunteer hours this past year is valuable in ways we cannot fully comprehend. We celebrate each and every one of you. The result is theFamily Health Ministries that you see displayed on these pages of Guide Star.

We have learned that life is not easy for people who love Haiti. 2010 was a difficult year at best. But we have also learned that working together with the Haitian people has been one of the most worthwhile things we have done in our lives. Haiti has made us better friends, parents and colleagues, and that is something to celebrate.

Thank you for everything you do to make a difference!
