Mission Statement

CaringWorks is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to improve the quality of life for low-income individuals and families by helping them to achieve greater personal and economic self-sufficiency. By providing a place to live and support to change their lives, we help our clients make crucial steps toward independence and greater quality of life. Our services include case management, counseling, job readiness supports and more. When we help our clients in crisis, promote their personal growth, and nurture them to become stakeholders invested in where they live, we create stronger, healthier communities for all. This is the power of housing, help and hope.

Impact Statement

Our results show that caring does work: As of 2011, two thirds of our departing clients had gone on to secure a higher income, and 60% moved on to better housing. Our aim is to break the cycle of homelessness – to work toward the day when our help is longer needed.

Funding Needs

CaringWorks is always seeking more support for our supportive service programs and operational costs such as IT infrastructure and utilities. The agency can also accept gifts to its reserve fund as well as certain in-kind contributions. Please contact the Development Director at 404-371-1230 x230 for more information.

Volunteer Needs

CaringWorks does not have the infrastructure to accommodate large groups without prior arrangement with the Development Director. Individuals or company representatives who would like to get involved may call 404-371-1230 to inquire about current opportunities. Typical needs include computer skills training; job readiness workshops (i.e. resume preparation, interview skills etc); literacy training; health and wellness classes; and financial management classes. Arts and crafts or other creative pursuits are also of interest.

Request for In-Kind Contributions

Our clients are always in need of toiletries, medications, clothing, shoes, bedding, furniture, and other household goods. Our program and corporate offices will gladly accept these on behalf of the clients, as well as office supplies and up-to-date computer hardware and software.
