Impact Statement
Last year we completed a $200,000 capital conservation project that restored the home to its original paint colors and addressed 16 years of deferred maintenance.
This year we launched the KIPP Scribes program, pairing 17 students from our neighborhood with professional writers. The students learned how to record an important family story. We compiled their stories for a book called Don't Forget That Day and launched it at the Decatur Book Festival.

CEO/Executive Director Statement:
As the great-great-great grandson of Joel Chandler Harris, I've been proud to help turn this organization around. In 2006 the house was in shambles, the organization was in serious debt, and there was almost zero programming. Heck, we didn't even have a functioning email address.
Just four years later our donors have proven that the Wren's Nest is an indispensable Atlanta institution. We've been granted the opportunity to once again greet visitors from around the world and make a significant impact right here in our community. Thank you for your continued support.
