Mission Statement

The Peace Education Program strengthens communites and schools by training youth and adults to build and sustain positive relationships. We do this by providing learning experiences to reduce violence, enchange personal integrity and foster mutual respect. We teach conflict resolution, peer mediation and prejudice reduction.

Eileen Blanton became the director in March, 2003. She brought her knowledge and expertise as the lead trainer for Peace Education Program to this position. She has 28 years of experience teaching non-violent conflict resolution to young people and adults. Her skills in prejudice reduction, learned from the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI), are a valuable asset. Her passion for promoting Peace Education Program's mission has made her a skilled fundraiser and program developer.
