Funding Needs
The STAR Center's greatest need is to grow our current endowment to ensure the long-term sustainability of our current programs. We are currently working on two projects to expand our reach and increase our sustainability which both need support - our Rural Distance Learning Project and our Energy Efficiency and Self-Sustainability Project.
Volunteer Needs
Volunteer support with our major fundraising
events as well as to assist our staff in daily operations is an ongoing need.
Request for In-Kind Contributions
Recycled
assistive and computer technology, communication, and vision equipment is
always welcomed and needed for the AT Reutilization program (described in
question #3). Continued professional
training for managers is a high-priority need in order to develop the future leaders
of The STAR Center. Other
needed tangible items include: a conference room table and chairs to seat about
24 people, musical instruments for the Music Therapy Program, art supplies for the
Art Therapy Program, a commercial-grade ice machine and a professional 6-burner
range for fundraiser events, paper products for kitchen and bathroom, lobby
furniture, first aid kits and supplies, printing services, and office supplies Because
of the growing number of people we serve, parking has become an issue. Earth moving equipment and operator’s time as
well as asphalting services will be necessary to enlarge and enhance our
parking capacity.
